Customer Description

Our customer is a world-leading supplier of online and in-venue based sports betting and gaming solutions. It is this level of performance, combined with an inherent culture of innovation that has seen the development of the industry’s first omni-channel gaming solution.

The Semior Scrum Master will be critical to ensuring that good governance and reporting practices are implemented from the start of the project to provide reassurance to executive stakeholders as to the position of the project.

The Scrum Master will have attention to detail and will embed themselves in the heart of the project to ensure the successful completion to time and budget of quality deliverables.

There will be a mixture of small but strategically significant projects and large scale complex programmes of work delivered in an Agile format with direction from product management but delivery in a tightly contained team focused on quality deliverables across customer’s portfolio of products.

Requirements:

  • At least 7 years in a fast-paced software development house with proven use of Agile (scrum) development and knowledge of waterfall methodologies;
  • At least 6 years’ experience in project management in a software development environment with a minimum of 3 years’ demonstrable experience of Agile methodologies and some experience of a more traditional “waterfall” methodology;
  • Good managerial and leadership skills, able to motivate and lead personal development plans for employees as well as driving change and handling difficult and complex project QA and test activities both internally and externally;
  • Ability to work as part of a leadership team leading the programme;
  • Experience in contributing to and influencing planning strategies at a departmental or company level;
  • Dealing with change on a daily basis; must be comfortable both with external factors driving this change as well as internals;
  • Demonstrable experience in understanding comprehensive test strategies for complex IT projects working in Agile environments, with a good understanding of automated testing through to production deployment, also with focus on non-functional requirements, notably performance and scalability;
  • Proven experience running large or multiple scrum teams;
  • Proven experience managing project budgets;
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with a desire to drive continuous improvement through the project lifecycle;
  • Proven line management experience;
  • Excellent people management skills and the ability to demonstrate stakeholder management responsibilities;
  • Good communication skills both written and spoken;

Additional Requirements:

  • Qualified scrum master from a recognised certification body;
  • Strong risk management skills;
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and the role of governance in projects;
  • Tools experience Jira, Confluence, tenrox, Google Docs

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuing on-time delivery of projects and programmes against pre-agreed time and cost;
  • Ensuring SDLC governance is met and adhered to in all aspects of the project life cycle and ensuring that any non-adherence is raised and dealt with in the correct manner with the appropriate stakeholders;
  • Adherence to Agile best practice and ensuring the SDLC role and responsibilities are adhered to, including ensuring that all ceremonies such as sprint reviews, sprint planning and (critically) sprint retrospectives are appropriately prepared, performed and actioned;
  • Provision of accurate reporting to managers and senior stakeholders;
  • Provide day to day internal liaison and be responsible for project management and the delivery of software agreed timeframes and resource costs;
  • Manage pipeline of multiple complex projects and work streams, ensuring teams are working to fully agreed resource allocation levels;
  • Tracking of financial expenditure for all team activity;
  • In conjunction with the associated senior staff, matrix management of a team of developers, testers, and business analysts involved in developing and maintaining processes for efficient delivery of software to customers;

  • Manage delivery of change through the Agile scrum processes;
  • Coaching and championing the use of Agile methodologies;
  • Collaborate with other project managers, exchanging ideas, and sharing best practices on standardization of process and internal documentation across the company;
  • Involvement in governance definition and direction;
  • Champion project management best practice through line management and mentoring;
  • Line management of junior project management staff if needed
